Tablet Command

I met Jessica through the CSUMB Summer Intern Program and had the pleasure of working with her to update our website during the 2015 summer. Jessica was easy to work with and very professional throughout.

One of the challenges we faced in the website redesign was finding solutions that were not part of the templates we chose. This meant that if there was any chance of creating the website of our dreams it was going to come down to Jessica. I was impressed with Jessica’s natural resilience and resourcefulness. Jessica rose to each challenge and continually found solutions where we encountered problems.

I was also particularly impressed with Jessica’s passion for communication. Several times during the project she initiated a conversation with me about managing the project and communicating updates. This proved to be an invaluable contribution toward the overall success of our mission.

Jessica is as personable as she is dependable as she carries out every task in a timely and pleasant manner. I recommend her highly.

Associated Students of CSU Monterey Bay

While completing her undergraduate degree at CSUMB, Jessica was employed by the Associated Students for two academic years to join our AS Graphic Design Team. She was responsible for managing different facets for designing our posters, flyers, banners, digital signage, and other publications from the conceptualization stage to the finished end-product.

Her conceptual design skills were phenomenal. She was able to work efficiently with both traditional and non-traditional approaches with layouts by using a combination of standard black and white, and color elements. She communicated the different events sponsored by seven divisions and fifteen committees within AS by integrating photos, silhouettes, and different images along with necessary and vital text information. Jessica’s creativity and ‘can do’ attitude coupled with her communication, organizational, and people skills made her effective in attending to both the micro and macro dimensions of her job.

As her immediate supervisor, I found her to be both open and receptive to constructive input from our professional staff to our AS officers to enhance the different jobs she was responsible for overseeing and managing.  She is very dedicated to her craft and would often times work beyond the call of duty to produce different projects that had tighter deadlines to turn around. Jessica works well independently and within a team. She takes a great deal of initiative and is someone whom I consider to be a top notch and talented young professional in her field!

Cosmopolitan Quilt Company

We are Cosmopolitan Quilt Company! We design and create contemporary quilt patterns.  Our company is fairly new, it began like many start up companies, at home with a few pattern ideas, until one day we realized we had a business. We had been very busy creating patterns, and not thinking about our overall image. We knew that we wanted an edgy, modern look to go with our patterns, so…

We began working with Jessica Hoff during her senior year in college. Her capstone project was to create an appropriate “image” for her client, from the ground up. Jessica worked with us to determine our style, our wants, and our needs. She was an amazing teacher, while leading us through the design process and developed a fabulous logo, business card design, signage, and letterhead, as well as templates for us to use when creating patterns. It also provided us consistencybetween products and allow for a more recognizable product. Jessica also created an extensive website for our business, including the ability to use e-commerce at a later date. She was motivated and a self starter and delivered each portion of the project on time.
